Terms of Service
What the service does, what stays yours, how plans and AI credits work, and what publishing means.
Updated September 12, 2026
The agreement
These terms apply when you use Resume X. Creating an account or using the service means you accept them.
If you do not accept them, do not create an account. You can still look at the public demo.
What the service does
Resume X takes the contents of your CV and helps you structure, rewrite, restyle and export them. It reads an uploaded PDF or DOCX into editable sections, offers AI-assisted rewrites you approve one at a time, and prints a PDF.
It is a tool for presenting your own experience. It does not apply for jobs on your behalf, does not submit anything anywhere, and makes no claim about whether a resume it produces will result in an interview or an offer.
Your account
Keep your credentials to yourself, and keep them secure. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
One account is for one person. It is not a shared workspace, and sharing credentials is not a supported way to give someone else access.
If you believe someone else has reached your account, stop using it and contact support.
Access may be limited or suspended where it is necessary to protect the service, other users, the payment system or the infrastructure, or where these terms are being broken.
What you write stays yours
Your CV content and anything else you enter remain yours. No ownership in them is claimed.
The permission granted is only the one needed to run the service: to store what you write, show it back to you, render it into a PDF, publish it if you choose to publish it, and send the parts you select to an AI provider when you ask for a rewrite.
That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where a copy must be retained for accounting.
You are responsible for what you enter being true and being yours to use. Claiming qualifications or employment you do not have is between you and whoever reads the resume, but do not use this service to do it.
What you must not do
Do not upload malware, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
Do not impersonate another person, or publish someone else's personal details without their agreement. Note that a published resume excludes your references by default for exactly this reason.
Do not attempt to get around the limits on a plan, to reach another account's content, or to disrupt the service for anyone else.
Plans, payment and access
Current plans, prices and what each includes are shown on the pricing page, and the terms displayed at checkout are the ones that apply to your purchase. They are not repeated here so that the two cannot disagree.
Payment is handled by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages and are never received by Resume X.
Some plans are bought outright and open access for a fixed period rather than renewing. Nothing recurs on those, nothing is charged again, and access simply ends when the period does. Buying again before it ends extends the period and adds to your remaining AI credits rather than replacing them.
Some plans are subscriptions, and those renew until cancelled. You can cancel one at any time; it then runs to the end of the period already paid for.
Prices, plan names and limits may change. A change does not alter a purchase already made.
AI credits
AI features are metered in credits. One credit is spent when you accept one proposed change, not when you ask for suggestions.
A request that produces nothing, that fails, or whose suggestions you reject costs nothing.
When your credits run out, the AI features stop and nothing else does. Your editor, your templates, your saved resumes and your PDF downloads continue to work, because they are what the plan paid for.
AI output is a draft
Everything an AI feature proposes is a suggestion you review. Nothing is applied to your resume until you accept it, and each proposal is accepted or rejected on its own.
The features are built to rewrite what you have written rather than to invent achievements, and a suggestion that is not grounded in your existing content is discarded before you see it. Even so, a language model can produce text that is wrong, awkward or subtly different in meaning.
Read anything it writes before you send your resume anywhere. You are responsible for the final document, not the model.
Publishing
Publishing a resume is an explicit action, and it makes that page readable by anyone who has the link.
You can unpublish at any time and the page stops working immediately. The link keeps its address, so republishing later restores it and any QR code already printed continues to work.
A published page is a copy of the live document, so edits appear on it. If that is not what you want, unpublish before editing.
Availability
The service is provided as it is. No promise is made that it will be available without interruption, that every feature will work in every browser, or that a generated PDF will satisfy a particular employer or applicant tracking system.
Features may change, and a feature may be removed. Where a change would affect a plan you have already bought, the purchase you made is honoured.
Keep your own copy of anything important. A resume you rely on should not exist in only one place, here or anywhere else.
Ending it
You can stop using the service at any time, and can ask for your account and its contents to be deleted through the support channel.
Deleting your account removes your resumes and their version history. Payment records may be kept where accounting rules require it.
An account may be closed by us where these terms are being broken, or where it is being used in a way that harms other users or the service.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated, and the date below records the last revision. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting the updated terms.
Questions about anything here can be sent through the support channel shown in the app.
